Many across football will miss Tom Brady now that he’s retired. The Jets, however, won’t.
The Jets, tortured by Brady throughout his Hall of Fame career, shared some kind words about the former Patriots and Bucs quarterback on Tuesday. But not before they were absolutely sure that Brady is riding off into the sunset.

“This better be real” is a mix of excitement from an organization that Brady crushed repeatedly, as well as a nod to the initial ESPN report that said the 44-year-old was retiring over the weekend. Brady and the Bucs claimed no decision had been made at the time, forcing the Jets to delay their celebration.
Between the regular season and playoffs, Brady went a remarkable 31-8 against New York after Mo Lewis’ brutal hit on Drew Bledsoe gave way to an all-time career. Most of that was done with New England, but Brady was sure to deliver one last Jets dagger before retiring, orchestrating a last-minute, game-winning touchdown drive for the Bucs this past season.
