Tornadoes Confirmed In South Carolina, No Injuries Reported

Police and emergency services are seen at Bondi Junction in Sydney

South Carolina's Edisto Beach and Seabrook Island have been hit by two tornadoes as Tropical Storm Debby brings heavy rainfall and gusty winds to parts of the state. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported from either tornado.

The first tornado struck Edisto Beach, located about 50 miles southwest of Charleston, at approximately 9:47 p.m. on Monday, as confirmed by the National Weather Service. The storm caused downed powerlines and property damage in its aftermath.

Shortly after, another tornado swept through Seabrook Island, situated about 25 miles southwest of Charleston, around 11 p.m. on Monday.

Survey teams will be assessing the intensities and paths of the tornadoes in the coming days. The National Weather Service in Charleston plans to dispatch survey teams once Tropical Storm Debby has moved out of the region.
