Tornado Watch Issued For Western Illinois And Eastern Missouri

A tornado watch has been issued for parts of western Illinois and eastern Missouri until 8 a.m. CDT. This watch covers an area where more than 3 million people reside, including the city of St. Louis, Missouri.

The potential for severe weather in the region includes the risk of tornadoes, scattered damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph, and large hail up to 1 inch in diameter. Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay informed and be prepared to take necessary precautions.

Aside from the tornado watch in western Illinois and eastern Missouri, several other tornado watches are currently in effect across the Central US. These watches encompass parts of Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa, indicating a widespread threat of severe weather in the region.
