Tori Spelling has slammed "brutal" online trolls and warned people not to "attack" her children on social media.
The Beverly Hills 90210 actress said her skin has "thickened" over the years as a result of negative comments, adding that she has grown used to criticism after her decades in the spotlight.
Speaking exclusively to Mirror, Tori said: "I’ve heard everything said about me. I didn’t even consciously be like, ‘Okay I’m not going to give that any of my time,’ my skin did just thickened over the years."
The 49-year-old said she is no longer bothered by what people write about her, but draws the line at people scrutinising her children.
Tori and her husband Dean McDermott are the proud parents to five kids - Liam, Stella, Hattie, Finn and Beau.
She added: "Being a mom, that’s what it is. It’s more like I don’t care what you write about me anymore but don’t attack my kids, or discuss their physical beings.
"It’s just everything, like they’re kids. Leave them alone."
Tori said social media has changed the way in which people can criticise celebrities.
"I can’t imagine being a young actor, a teen actor, having to go through social media now where people can be brutal and I feel like there are no boundaries of what they can say to you."
The film star is set to host MTV's new dating show Love at First Lie and said audiences are in for a "wild ride".
The show is the first-ever relationship mystery competition series on the channel and will see eight couples put to the test, with viewers discovering which relationships are real and which are fake.
Tori teased: "It’s the wildest ride. You’re like on the edge of your seat with excitement and anxiety the entire time. The drama is like, next level.
"There’s a moment in one of the episodes where we literally had to call security in. There’s another moment where I am so surprised at how it plays out that I literally fall to my knees on stage.
"Just when you think you know the rules, every episode things change."
Tori said she became invested in the show during filming and didn't want to be told too much about the couples.
"I was like, ‘Don’t tell me who’s real, don’t tell me who’s fake, I want to play along while I’m in the middle of hosting.’ So I was shocked a few times, I was like, ‘Woah I got that wrong!’"
Tori tried to channel her inner American Idol host Ryan Seacrest to make the new show a huge success and added: "I became friends with all these people so I was so invested in their relationships so it gets super emotional for me."
Love at First Lie airs every Thursday at 10pm on MTV.
