Tori Spelling feared her house had been looted after she evacuated when the Los Angeles wildfires hit - but it was just messy.
The 51-year-old actress - who has Liam, 17, Stella, 16, Hattie, 13, Finn, 12, and seven-year-old Beau with estranged husband Dean McDermott - was forced to flee her home to escape the blazes earlier this month, and on her return she was so shocked by the state of the property, she was convinced she'd been burgled.
Speaking on her 'MisSpelling' podcast, she said: “I walk through our front door. You guys, I’m not an alarmist. I walked in and I gasped.
“[I thought], ‘While we were gone, out of town, evacuated, someone has broken into our home and has burglarised our home. There have been looters here. Look at the state of the house.'
"There was s*** everywhere. I mean, it looked like people had come in and just trashed our house.”
But after taking a closer look, Tori realised: "Oh s***, no, this is just the way I live.”
The former 'Beverly Hills, 90210' star admitted the moment was a wake-up call for her.
She said: “That’s when it really dawned on me that when all of this settles down, I know it’s just stuff. I’ve seen the devastation, the loss, friends, families, people displaced, people that have lost everything.
“When you’re lucky enough that you still have your home and you still have your things, it really put it into perspective that it’s like, God, I have so much stuff.”
And as a result, Tori is "really ready" to donate some of her belongings to families who have lost so much due to the fires, particularly because she is
“on the heels” of “doing [her] hoarding episode.”
She said: “I really just haven’t had the time, but I’m ready to let go of stuff. Everybody around us in LA, losing their stuff and needing stuff. Especially being back in town now, we can help donate all our stuff that we can get out and give it to the people who have lost stuff.”
Tori previously admitted she had ignored friends' pleas to make a proper evacuation plan as the fires took hold and eventually fled with her kids, pets, and photo albums with no idea of where to go.
She wrote on Instagram: "I tried my best to hang in there and not just flee to flee but we had too finally.
"My hearts are w/everyone who have lost and suffered so much. But, as a mama bear w/5 kiddos + fur babies your gut tells you when it’s time to take action. And, all the amazing apps and LIVES that have been keeping us updated.
"In a SUV me and 5 kids, 3 large dogs, 1 cat, and a ferret left unplanned. Friends who care, told me for days to pack and have a plan. I should have listened. I fit us all in barely. No clothes. But grabbed photo albums. And fled. (sic)"
