Tori Kelly ‘rushed to hospital with blood clots around vital organs after collapsing at restaurant’

Tori Kelly, 30, has reportedly been hospitalised for blood clots in her lungs and legs after collapsing while out for dinner in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The Grammy winner is believed to have been out with friends, when she experienced elevated heart rates before passing out, according to TMZ.

According to TMZ, the American singer’s friends rushed her to hospital, where she is now being treated in the ICU for blood clots in her lungs and legs.

As per the outlet’s report, medics are working to see if there are blood clots in or surrounding other vital organs, including her heart.

It’s believed that the US star has been drifting in and out of consciousness, with a source claiming the situation is “very serious”. Kelly’s team have yet to publicly address her health.

The Standard has contacted Tori Kelly’s rep for comment.

Following the reports, fans have flooded social media with messages of concern as well as sent their thoughts and prayers to Kelly.

One fan tweeted: “I still can’t process this, just when she was about to release her new EP, this is so scary and sad. Queen you better stay strong @torikelly”.

“Praying sm for Tori Kelly I’m so scared my heart hurts,” another wrote. “Lord pls protect tori kelly. she and her entire family needs your healing”.

A fourth added: “I really do hope Tori Kelly makes a full recovery swiftly. she’s so talented and sweet and unproblematic, she doesn’t deserve this.”

Kelly has previously said she first caught the bug for singing when she was three.

The singer proved her talent early when she beat country music star Hunter Hayes in 2004 to win the America’s Most Talented Kids title aged 11.

Later, she continued on her journey to stardom when she appeared on 2010’s American Idol, making it through to Hollywood Week.

Then in 2015, she finally broke through when she released her debut album, Unbreakable Smile, which peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 chart and its lead single, Nobody Love, marked her first appearance on the Hot 100 chart.

Kelly then secured her superstar status when she won the Billboard Women in Music Breakthrough Artist Award in 2015.

Four years later, she took home Grammys for the Best Gospel Album and Best Gospel Performance/Song.

Kelly has also collaborated with the likes of Ed Sheeran, James Bay, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, and Justin Timberlake.
