Top Scottish dance artist announces launch of new music festival

A NEW dance music festival founded by a Scottish DJ is set to launch in her hometown next year.

Producer Hannah Laing has taken the step from musician to festival organiser as she announced the launch of doof In The Park in Dundee, promising to bring a day of “heavy beats” and “epic basslines”.

Laing has played at some of the biggest dance music festivals across the UK including Creamfields, Terminal V, Warehouse Project and Parklife.

Teaming up with EE Live, the organisers behind Terminal V, Laing hopes to bring a fun party atmosphere to Camperdown Park on July 5, 2025, which she says only a Scotland crowd can create.

Laing said bringing the festival to her hometown will be a special experience and expects the atmosphere by festival goers to be unmatched.

She said: “doof In The Park, it feels crazy even seeing those words!

“To be bringing a festival to my hometown with my own brand is an absolute dream come true! Bringing everyone together where I have lived all my life is going to be special and great for the city!

Born to two self-proclaimed "raver parents", Laing grew up in a household surrounded by house and trance music.

Laing launched her own record label doof earlier this year where she sold out multiple shows at Dundee's Caird Hall and SWG3’s Galvanizers Yard last month.

According to Laing, doof In The Park is the next natural progression in her journey as she aims to bring together three stages of high-energy dance music at the festival.

Tickets for doof In The Park go on sale on Friday at 9am. More information for the event can be found here.
