One of the top safety prospects for the 2025 NFL Draft has suffered what his coaches deem a “long-term” injury. Penn State safety Kevin Winston Jr. sustained an undisclosed injury that is expected to keep him out for an extended time frame.
Winston won the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors in the Nittany Lions win over West Virginia two weeks ago and was a consensus top-50 overall prospect for the draft. His ability to impact the game in both the run and pass defense had Winston moving up draft boards with every week.
The 6-foot-2, 208-pound junior first suffered the injury in Penn State’s close-fought game against Bowling Green.
