Top-rated Edinburgh Indian restaurant opening second venue in city

A popular Edinburgh family-run Indian and Nepalese restaurant have announced that exciting times lie ahead in the form of a new eatery within the capital.

Gautam's, on Dalziel Place, Meadowbank, is currently closed for their own refurbishment, but have shared a post on Instagram teasing a new venue in the near future.

The team began the post with the words: "Gautam’s Re-imagined," suggesting the team's second venue could take a step in a different direction, with local interior design firm Ja Coco spearheading the layout of the new eatery.

As well as tasty Indian and Nepalese dishes in a tranquil setting, Gautam's also offer special themed cocktails. As well as the recent social media post, Gautam's have also decked out their windows with posters promoting their exciting news.

Posting on Instagram, they said: "Edinburgh: Exciting things are heading our way.

"Gautam’s is coming back stronger and better than ever before. We are building a new dining destination in Edinburgh. Keep an eye on the page for updates."

After opening at the end of 2018, we previously reported how impressed we were during a visit to Gautam's. In 2021, Gautam's was also voted as serving up one of the best takeaway curries in the capital, according to Just Eat.

According to TripAdvisor, Gautam's is ranked Edinburgh's 50th best restaurant out of over 1,600 establishments. They also have 265 'excellent' reviews out of 303 in total.
