Top Outside Groups Disclose Millions In 2024 Campaign Spending

This week, top outside groups have made significant moves in the 2024 presidential campaign by disclosing substantial amounts of new spending aimed at influencing the race. One notable player in this arena is America PAC, a super PAC that was formed with the support of tech billionaire Elon Musk to back former President Donald Trump. America PAC recently reported $18.2 million in new spending, with a focus on supporting Trump's field operations, an area where his campaign has faced being outspent by Kamala Harris' team.

America PAC's latest expenditures include $7.8 million in spending this week alone, as the group began offering organizers $47 for voter contacts. In total, America PAC has now spent $95.8 million on the presidential race, with a significant portion, $56.9 million, allocated towards canvassing and field operations, solidifying its position as one of the leading outside groups supporting Trump.

FF PAC, supporting Kamala Harris, spent $50.8 million on new ad purchases.

On the Democratic side, FF PAC, the primary super PAC supporting Kamala Harris, disclosed $50.8 million in new ad purchases this week, bringing its total spending for the year to over $242 million. Unlike the network of super PACs supporting Trump, FF PAC has taken on a singular role as the primary outside group backing Harris.

The substantial increase in ad buys by FF PAC represents a notable escalation in its spending in recent weeks, with expenditures up by more than $150 million since the end of August. These developments underscore the significant influence that outside groups are exerting on the 2024 presidential campaign, shaping the narrative and strategies of the candidates vying for the highest office in the land.
