Here are the key news developments in Karnataka to watch out for today:
1. The 19 th annual edition of Chitra Santhe organized by the Chitrakala Parishat is being held today in Bengaluru. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will inaugurate the Chitra Santhe and Higher Education Minister Ashwath Narayan will inaugurate an art exhibition.
2. A bust of late Kannada actor Punith Rajkumar is being installed and Gandhadagudi Park is being inaugurated at BBMP premises today.
3. An interaction programme on “40% commission, a mega scam that shocked no one: What next for Karnataka?” is being organized by Jagrutha Karnataka at Institute of Agricultural Technologists.
4. Not being eligible to apply for teachers’ post in the state, the candidates holding degrees of Central University of Karnataka (CUK) are in doldrums. State government has invited applications for the posts of Graduate Primary School Teachers. Unfortunately, the CUK graduates are not eligible. The request from the university to amend the rules went in vain.
5. KPCC working President Eshwar Khandre to arrive in Mysuru today to inaugurate the Akhila Bharatha Veerashaiva Lingayat Mahasabha’s Mysuru district legal cell.
6. In all, 43,734 students in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi have applied to appear for the SSLC examination which starts from March 28. The examinations will commence amid row over Hijab which has not ended notwithstanding the final verdict of the high Court.
