Top Karnataka news developments for today

1. State level conference of visually challenged persons will be held at Kannada Bhavana in Bengaluru today. Sangeeta Ratna awards will be presented during the conference.

2. Today is the last day for participants to register for the seventh edition of ‘Racefor7’, a 7-km event to raise awareness for the rare disease community in India. It will be held across India on February 27. ‘Racefor7’ symbolically represents the 7,000 known rare diseases; the estimated 70 million rare disease patients in India; and the average of 7 years it takes to diagnose a rare disease, according to the Organization for Rare Diseases India (ORDI). Race for 7 is held every year in February to commemorate Rare Disease Day which falls on the last day of the month. To participate in this race, register here. Registrations close on February 20. Participants can run, walk or even cycle 7 kilometers wherever they are located to lend their support for rare diseases.
