In the review by the guest which was titled 'Air con from hell' they also gave the hotel a one out of five.
The guest started the review by talking about their first impression of the room and said: "Really tired and dirty room which had an unpleasant smell.
"The air con was ridiculously noisy which the staff acknowledged and stopped any meaningful sleep. Would not return to the hotel."
Abode Glasgow responded, “We were sorry to read AJC’s Tripadvisor feedback on their recent stay and have already been in touch to provide a full refund.
"There was a temporary issue at the time with our air-conditioning, which was resolved three weeks ago. We value all feedback, and of the 1647 comments on Tripadvisor, over 65% rate ABode Glasgow as ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’, with for example, those either side of AJC rating the hotel 5/5 and entitled ‘My forever go to hotel in Glasgow’ and ‘Excellent’, but we note and act upon all feedback to ensure this positive experience is the same for all our guests”.
The hotel has received a few other one star reviews on Tripadvisor. However, the hotel overall gets some rave reviews and is rated four out of five on the site.
One person said: "As above, always my first preference when travelling to Glasgow! Superb location, clean rooms, unbelievably comfortable beds, friendly and helpful staff, and a great breakfast also! I tend not to stay anywhere else."
