'Top four gone' - Manchester United fans fear the worst as Fred limps off vs Everton

Manchester United fans are fearing the worst for the remainder of the season after Fred was forced off through injury against Everton.

The Brazilian was limping shortly after Anthony Gordon's deflected effort had put the hosts ahead. He was replaced by Paul Pogba after just 35 minutes as Ralf Rangnick looked for a way back into the game.

Fred has been in inspired form since the arrival of Rangnick, most recently helping the Reds earn a point against Leicester last time out with a goal. United fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts after he limped off.

Anything less than a win for United is likely to spell the end to their ever-fading hopes of Champions League qualification, and Fred's injury scare further threatens their hopes. At the other end of the table, Frank Lampard's side are fighting for their Premier League status.
