A Dublin chef has slammed an influencer after they asked for "free stuff" on International Women's Day.
Chef Grainne O'Keefe alongside Chef Danni Barry is set to host a special dinner at Mae Restaurant in Ballsbridge honouring women on March 8.
The event will see all proceeds from the event donated to build an online directory to highlight female producers in Ireland.
Sharing a screenshot of the request, Chef O'Keefe expressed her fury at an email from an influencer asking for a free dinner on the same day as the event.
The email read in part: "I was just wondering if you might be up for gifting me a dinner for two in your wonderful restaurant in exchange for some lovely media coverage?
"March 8 would be awesome if possible."
Chef O'Keefe said on Twitter: "'Can I please have free stuff from you on International Women’s Day even though the proceeds (that I won’t contribute to) are going towards a directory supporting women in the industry (that I don’t care about)'...
"NO. Also, this is a verified account with 90k+ followers."
The dinner, hosted by Mae Restaurant, will feature food made using items from "some of our incredible Irish female producers as well as ceramicist @ionaceramics, chocolate maker @taragartlan, and some international female winemakers sourced by @the_french_paradox including the incredible @lacourtegodbillon", she said on Instagram.
She added: "It will be a set menu matched with wines and will be €150 per person. I'll be using the proceeds of the evening to build an online directory of all the incredible female producers that we have in Ireland so anyone looking to source produce/items that are female made can do with ease.
"I'm really excited for this event and all the wonderful women who are producing it."
