After years of waiting, Sex and the City fans were beyond devastated to see one of the main characters die during the first episode of the reboot And Just Like That ...”

Mr Big is arguably one of the most iconic TV characters of all time and whether or not you were a fan of him or his relationship with Carrie Bradshaw, there’s no way anyone was prepared to watch his death by Peloton.

His death in the show, which involves an inconsolable Carrie running to her husband and shower-soaked blue Manolos, was heartbreaking and frustrating as many fans found themselves yelling at the screen for Carrie to call 911.

Instead, Mr Big died in her arms.

Naturally, people have found themselves wondering if Mr.Big’s death could have been prevented, that is, would he still be alive if Carrie picked up the phone and dialed for help immediately?

The answer to that is tricky.

The American Heart Association (AHA) wrote in a press release, “In true Sex and the City fashion, many ‘can’t help but wonder …’ could Carrie have saved Big? Scientifically speaking, that is unclear – the script doesn’t provide many details.”

“However, Carrie could have taken specific actions to help the situation,” the statement added.

According to experts, there are preventative measures such as a healthy lifestyle and quick on-the-spot response that can help stop these events from becoming fatal where it concerns heart health.

The AHA further said that there were steps that Carrie could have taken to attempt to save her husband such as calling 911 or conducting CPR.

You may recall the famous The Office scene where Michael Scott teaches his staff how to perform proper CPR in rhythm to the Bee Gees’ ‘Stayin’ Alive,’ which is another method recommended by the AHA.

“Push hard and fast in the center of the chest to the beat of a song with 100-120 beats per minute, like the Bee Gees’ ‘Stayin’ Alive’ or Beyoncé’s ‘Crazy in Love,’” the AHA said.

Furthermore, Entertainment Tonight journalist Laura Zima told her followers she asked the show’s creator Michael Patrick King why Carrie didn’t call 911, which he explained the scene was meant to represent one elongated painful moment for her as opposed to the lengthy scene viewers see play out.

Despite the heightened scrutiny surrounding Peloton as the cause of Big’s death, experts have also reaffirmed that it was his lifestyle that led to his demise, not the bike.

In fact, many have said that Big’s love for the famous bike might have even helped in keeping his heart healthy for as long as it did.

Experts say people are more likely to survive a heart attack if they are physically active on a regular basis.
