Georgia football is in the running for one of the nation’s top running back prospects in the 2025 class, four-star tailback Akylin Dear. The Quitman High School (Miss.) prospect announced his top-12 schools on Thursday with UGA on the list.
Dear (6-foot-1, 200 pounds) is rated as the No. 4 tailback, the No. 3 player in the state of Mississippi and the No. 68 overall prospect in his class, per 247Sports Composite.
Dear will choose from among Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Texas, Texas A&M, Miami, Florida State and Ohio State when the time comes.

247Sports’ David Johnson currently projects Dear to stay in-state and sign with Ole Miss. It will be up to Kirby Smart and new running backs coach Josh Crawford to try and persuade Dear to Athens.
