One employee's bathroom mirror selfie has skyrocketed Home Depot (HD) into viral internet fame this week. The post was made by an employee named Ariana, who said that she was often told she was "too pretty" to work at the home repair store. The picture and surrounding conversation has resulted in more than 35 million views and counting.
Several other Home Depot ladies posted pictures, proving to the masses online that "pretty women" can do just about whatever job they want. But as the conversation continued, some felt the need to shame an entirely unrelated industry while praising Ariana's go-getter attitude.

Several commenters praised Ariana for working a "regular job" instead of doing online adult work on a platform like OnlyFans. Several commenters who do online sex work had the same question -- "what does this conversation have to do with me?"
Ariana herself responded to the debate, saying that she would "never make an OnlyFans," and encouraged sex workers offering to "take it from here" in the comments section. But thanks to an earlier post that reads, "My daddy always told me ALL money ain’t GOOD money" and a deleted post that said she hoped she inspired young girls to "get money the right way," it sparked a conversation about pitting women against one another for money and respect.
Unfortunately, it looks like this learning opportunity has turned into a safety concern. Ariana said in a TikTok update on June 12 that she's had to quit her job because people found her work location. She also says that she's been doxxed -- a term for sharing someone's home address and person information online with the intent of harassing or intimidating them. Ariana said that she will probably have to "relocate and start fresh," leaving her town and her school behind.
