Dundee United are on the brink of securing a deal to bring Motherwell striker Tony Watt to Tannadice this month.
The 28-year-old has already signed a pre-contract with the Tangerines for next season.
But Daily Record reports the clubs are 'on the brink of agreeing a six-figure deal' that would see the ex-Celtic star join the club in time for the Premiership returning from its winter break this week.
Motherwell are due to travel to Ross County tomorrow night, while United host St Mirren in the first top flight games of 2022.
It's believed United are pushing to have the deal done in time for tomorrow's fixture.
Watt's decision to snub a stay at Fir Park and opt for United hasn't gone down well with the Motherwell faithbut, but gaffer Graham Alexander has already stated he would have no concerns about playing Watt for the remainder of the season.
He added: "If he’s still here when we play Ross County on January 18, then he’ll be in contention.”
