Tony’s Chocolonely recalls two products over potential small stones

TONY'S Chocolonely has issued a recall of two of its chocolate bar products amid a warning that they may contain small stones.

The company has recalled its 180g products of Dark Almond Sea Salt and Everything Bar, according to the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

The two products concerned have the specific batch codes: 162633, 162614, 163061, 4331, 4332 and 4333.

Consumers in the UK and Ireland are urged not to eat the bars and to return them to the store where they were bought for a refund or replacement.

The small stones weren't filtered during a third-party's almond harvesting and almond processing, the company said in a statement Tuesday. Tony's Chocolonely is advising people who have the bars not to eat them.

No injuries have been reported, it said.

The bars can be returned to the store where they were bought to get a refund or replacement, the company added.

A Tony’s Chocolonely spokesperson said: “We are extremely sorry to have to issue this recall, and for the inconvenience that this will cause people who purchased these.”

Notices will be displayed in all retail stores selling the specified products, the FSA said.
