Ever since joining the CBS Sports booth for NFL games in 2017, Tony Romo has offered a unique perspective as a former quarterback who has first-hand familiarity with many of the teams he’s watching. Fans loved it as he would call out plays before they happened. But he can also call out arguments as they are happening.
Sunday was the latest Tony Romo special.
As the Chiefs had the ball late in the first half of Sunday’s Week 3 game against the Colts, Patrick Mahomes seemed frustrated that Kansas City didn’t take a shot at the end zone. They ran out the clock and went into the locker room with a four-point lead.
Romo pointed out Mahomes’ frustration, and then as he was talking, an argument unfolded between Mahomes and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.

Romo said:
“Look it, he’s upset right here. Mahomes is like, ‘I don’t want to run the ball and finish the half.’ ‘Well, stop. They’re playing good. It’s tough. They got a good D-line. I know, but just trust us!'”
Of course, we don’t know what was actually said, but Romo’s narration seemed pretty spot on.
NFL fans didn’t think the argument itself was any reason to worry.
