Tony Mowbray's return to Blackburn Rovers with Sunderland has been selected for live television broadcast by Sky Sports. The Black Cats head to Ewood Park on Tuesday, October 18, for a game that will see their new head coach Mowbray come up against the club he left in the summer after five-and-a-half years in charge.
The game will stay on the same date, although kick-off has been moved from 7.45pm to 8pm to accommodate the TV coverage. It will be the seventh Sunderland game in all competitions to be screened live this season, representing more than 40 percent of their fixtures up to that point.
Sunderland's first game back in the Championship against Coventry City at the Stadium of Light was televised at the end of August, as was their Carabao Cup tie at Sheffield Wednesday, and the league games at Sheffield United and at home to Norwich City. Monday's league game against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium will also be shown, along with their game at Reading on September 14, and now the trip to Lancashire to face Rovers.
