Tony Ferguson has warned Conor McGregor he is "coming after" him following the Irishman's disparaging comments.
McGregor leapt at the opportunity to troll Ferguson after the UFC lightweight was knocked out cold by Michael Chandler at UFC 274 last weekend. The Irishman compared Ferguson's squashed face at the point of impact with a chicken nugget.
"Tony had some great nuggets in the media build up. Then he got punt kicked to the chin and got turned into a nugget himself. That’s crazy," McGregor said. He later posted a picture of Ferguson from the fight with the caption: "If you pulled that out of a McDonald’s bag you’d dip it in sauce and eat without a moments thought. No doubt. That would pass as a legitimate McDonald's chicken nugget. That’s crazy!"
Ferguson, who has now lost four fights in a row, was taken to hospital after the knockout but was soon released after a brain scan. And he took to social media to respond to McGregor, tweeting: "Ahhh There’s my b****. Next time tag me p****. Comin’ after you & ur crew. McNugget stays with you fake, can’t take what not your ya anymore thief. Still got no sauce & no balls McNuggets. I’ll see you & your crew soon comin after your gold leprechaun."
McGregor and Ferguson were previously represented by the same management company but Ferguson's departure appeared to leave a bitter taste in his former stablemate's mouth. McGregor hit out at his lightweight rival last week for constantly changing his representation while accusing him of blaming everyone else for his losing streak.

Ferguson spoke out yesterday for the first time since his defeat, writing on social media: "Congratulations to Michael Chandler on his victory at UFC 274. Had lots of fun in there, you fans are f****** wild! I love this s***! Feels good to be back & hungry again. We were just getting started. Best of luck in your next fight champ. For the love of the game."
The former 155lb interim champion has dropped three places in the new UFC rankings to 10th, one spot below McGregor who is currently recovering from the broken leg he suffered against Dustin Poirier last summer. He could return later this year but is eyeing a comeback at welterweight.
