Tony Awards 2022: Full list of winners from Simon Russell Beale to Sam Mendes

The Tony Awards were back for the first time since June 2019, as the ceremony returned following an extended pandemic disruption.

The awards, which honour the best onstage productions, took place on Sunday night at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Ariana DeBose, former Broadway understudy turned Oscar winner, hosted the three-hour broadcast portion of the awards on CBS, preceded by a one-hour segment hosted by Darren Criss and Julianne Hough on Paramount +.

British talent fared well, scooping several top prizes, including best leading actor going to Simon Russell Beale and the direction categories were dominated by Sam Mendes and Marianne Elliott.

Winners on the night also included A Strange Loop which won best musical, and The Lehman Trilogy, which scooped best play.

Myles Frost took home best leading actor for his role in the musical MJ, his Broadway debut.
