Toni Collette has announced her divorce from husband Dave Galafassi shortly after pictures emerged of the musician kissing another woman at the beach.
The 50-year-old actress took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a joint statement on behalf of her and 44-year-old Dave as they decided to split after 20 years of marriage.
"It is with grace and gratitude that we announce we are divorcing. We’re united in our decision and part with continuing respect and care for each other.
"Our kids are of paramount importance to us and we will continue to thrive as a family, albeit a different shape," Toni wrote alongside a picture of a floral arrangement which read 'peace and love'.
The former couple — who share daughter Sage Florence, 14, and son Arlo Robert, 11, — concluded the statement by thanking fans.
"We’re thankful for the space and love you grant us as we evolve and move through this transition peacefully. Big thanks."
Toni had earlier shared a cryptic message to her Instagram Stories which read: "No matter what your current circumstances are, if you can imagine something better for yourself, you can create it."
The announcement of their split comes after Dave was spotted kissing another woman during a trip to a beach in Sydney, Australia, on Wednesday morning.
The pair reportedly arrived at the beach at around 7:30am, with an eyewitness telling the Daily Mail that they were "all over each other".
The Mirror has approached Toni's representatives for comment.
Dave and Toni tied the knot in 2003 after meeting at an album launch for his band the previous year.
The pair have divided their time between Australia and the United States in recent years.
They married in a Buddhist ceremony at Tony's home in Australia.
The ceremony was followed by a weekend of partying, which included a firework display and a vegetarian banquet for 100 guests.
Actor Rachel Griffiths, who starred alongside Toni in Muriel's Wedding, was among those who attended the celebrations.
