Tommy Welch is now figuring things out on his own and getting ready for a big night in his hometown on Friday when he goes up against unbeaten Argentinian Jonathan Vergara (5-0-0), 26, at the Brighton Center on a much anticipated bill that also features Harlem Eubank.

Tommy Welch(11-0-0), 28, from Brighton, United Kingdom deems his long-standing relationship with boxing to be his most peculiar one. Prior to owning shoes, Welch claims he wore boxing gloves.

“I’ve been waiting for this day for years. It is going to be fantastic. I’m Brighton through and through, and to come out among a lot of faces I know, I can’t wait to put on an explosive performance for them,” said Tommy Welch in media reports prior to the first Brighton Center event since 1991.

This time, Welch will be competing on the undercard of a fellow Brightonian, the long-time friend and fighter Harlem Eubank(18-0-0), 29.

“Harlem learned his craft in my family’s gym on the Hove seafront. He moved on but we travelled all over the country and boxed on many amateur shows together. It’s great for him to be headlining down here,” said Welch.

“Plus, I’m not the only one from my gym fighting, we have a few others. Tiernan Bradley is one to watch, he brings the ferocity. It is going to be a good show,” he added.

“I have an army of people coming down, including a few Brighton footballers. My cousin is married to Solly March,” said welch.

“I already have a lot of people interested in my career, for which I am forever grateful, but it will be great to build on that. The place will be rocking,” he added.

In 1995, Scott Welch, his father, competed in the city and triumphed handsomely, taking home both British and Commonwealth straps. His son promises to make a similarly impactful performance.

“I’m feeling fit, strong, and hungry,” declared Welch.

“I’m bringing a storm. After the last time out, what better way to bounce back than with a victory in my home city? It’s going to be fun,” he added.

Welch will be closely watched by a few celebrities in addition to competitors he knows well, many of whom will be competing on Friday, November 10, 2023.
