He rose to fan for his down-to-earth cockney charm and practicality on Ground Force, now Tommy Walsh has joined the presenting team of Homes Under the Hammer and viewers are stunned.
In this new series Tommy joins regular presenters Martin Roberts, Dion Dublin and Martel Maxwell.
Another new presenter, designer Jacqui Joseph, has also joined the gang who scour Britain finding properties for sale.
But it was the chirpy gardener who confused and delighted daytime TV watchers in equal measure today as the team visited properties in Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Tommy was in seaside town Bridlington, Yorkshire, checking out a two-bed flat up for £50,000. After some cheeky fish and chips with Tommy buyers Mark and Natalie bought the flat for £55,000. Spending £4,000 on the refurb, the buyers were renting it out, but if they sold it one they could get £65,000.
