Amir Khan doubts Tommy Fury would have been dropped by the shot from Jake Paul which knocked out Tyron Woodley.
Woodley is a former UFC welterweight champion, and had only been knocked out once in his MMA career, save for a freak injury against Colby Covington that cost him a TKO finish.
But when YouTube star Paul landed a brutal right hand clean on his chin in the sixth round of their rematch last month, he was immediately knocked out cold.
And Khan, who is no stranger to receiving and dishing out brutal knockouts in his own storied career, thinks that Fury would have eaten the shot and kept going against Paul.
Love Island star Fury is 7-0 as a professional boxer, and has yet to be really troubled in his young career that includes a bout with Paul's close friend and sparring partner Anthony Taylor.
He was supposed to face a tough test in Paul on December 18 at the Amalie Arena in Florida, but Woodley was drafted in to replace him when he broke his rib during training camp.
“Tyron obviously got caught with a good shot, which can happen in boxing," Khan, who is set to face Kell Brook in a monumental pay-per-view fight at the AO Arena in Manchester next month, told Pro Boxing Fans.
"He is not really a boxer, he is an MMA fighter and as an MMA fighter, they don’t really punch hard - it’s more about the takedowns and everything else.
"I think he was just caught with a good shot, really.
“I think Tommy would have taken that shot and given a lot more back, or maybe would have hit him with some shot.
"Look, in boxing, anything can happen. I just feel that Tommy would outpoint him.”
Woodley did face some impressive punchers during his MMA career, including the likes of Kamaru Usman, Vicente Luque and Gilbert Burns on his four-fight losing streak that cost him his UFC place over the last few years.
During his prime, Woodley was able to knock out vicious striker Robbie Lawlor, and managed to beat the likes of Darren Till and Stephen Thompson.
He was only knocked out by Nate Marquardt in 2012, just six years after he had begun training MMA following a glittering NCAA wrestling career.

It is unknown as yet what Fury's chin is like when he's tested, given that he has yet to face any major power punchers in his seven professional fights.
Paul appears to have some degree of knockout power as well, having won four of his five professional bouts by stoppage, as well as his one white collar bout in 2018.
Of those five stoppages, two of them were vicious finishes that required immediate medical attention for his opponents; Woodley and Nate Robinson.
Another was when Ben Askren was deemed unable to continue after being dropped within minutes of the first round by Paul, while his first amateur bout saw the towel thrown in during the fifth round.
His professional debut saw him win by TKO after landing three knockdowns within the opening round on fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib, which in Florida where the fight was held means an immediate stop must be put to the fight.
