Tommy Fury wants Jake Paul fight on Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte undercard

Tommy Fury has challenged Jake Paul to fight on Tyson Fury's undercard ahead of his return to boxing.

The two had been scheduled to fight in December, but Fury was forced to withdraw from the bout after suffering a broken rib while struggling with a bacterial chest infection.

Instead, Paul's former opponent Woodley stepped up to replace Fury and Paul landed a knockout shot on the former UFC champion.

Fury has stated on numerous occasions that he hopes the Paul date can be rearranged as he targets a number of fights this year having returned to fitness.

Now, Fury has admitted that he'd like to fight on the undercard of Tyson's next event - with his older brother set to defend his WBC heavyweight title against Dillian Whyte in April.

He told Sky Sports: "I’d love to see the [Paul] fight happen by the back end of the year. I’m not really waiting around for it, he knows I’m ready to fight at all times.

"I’ve put that out there countless times, I’m not the issue here. If the man wanted to fight we’d have a rescheduled date by now.

"The ball’s in his court, I’m ready to fight whenever. I would like to see it happen at the end of the year, I know Frank [Warren] is still trying to reach out to him and stuff like that.

"I think I’m looking to get a run out on Tyson’s undercard next, that’s the plan moving forward. Then we’ll try set that fight up back end of the year".

Fury previously said that he had not been impressed with Paul's performance against Woodley at the back end of last year.

He told the MMA Hour show: "Honestly, it was appalling to watch. And even the commentators, I don’t know what round it was, said, ‘This is getting hard to watch now.’

"And they were joking between themselves during the fight saying, ‘Oh, I wonder who won that round? Well, nobody. Nobody threw a punch. Nobody.’

"It looked like they were trying to shadowbox in front of each other. No one wanted to commit. No one wanted to do anything.

"That fight was just really about one punch. But as far as the six rounds go, that was the worst six rounds."

Paul wore a t-shirt on the night mocking Fury, which read 'Tommy, this could have been you'.

The American YouTuber-turned-boxer is currently taking some time off from the sport. before returning later in 2022.
