Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul fight date announced: UK start time and TV channel

Jake Paul has announced that his long-awaited fight against Tommy Fury has finally been confirmed, with a date set for August 6 and the bout taking place at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York. Amanda Serrano has been announced as a dual main-event for the night after Paul co-promoted her fight with Katie Taylor in May at the same venue.

The original fight was due to take place in December, but that was cancelled by the Fury camp with Tommy citing both illness and injury as the reason for his withdrawal. He was replaced by former UFC star Tyron Woodley for the fight which Paul won to extend the unbeaten start to his boxing career to 5-0-0.

Meanwhile, Fury fought on the undercard of brother Tyson's heavyweight championship win over Dillian Whyte at Wembley on April 23. He beat Daniel Bocianski to continue the unbeaten start to his career and also took his opportunity to send a message to the 25-year-old American.

Yesterday, Paul appeared to issue an ultimatum to Fury on Twitter, calling the 22-year-old out by saying: " Tommy Fury, you pulled out last year. Then you agree to fight me now but your dad is trying to pull you out again? We’ve given you everything you asked for. $2 million purse. VADA testing. Tampons. You have 24 hours to clear this up or I will never give you this opportunity again.".

This was all the motivation that Fury needed, with a response ten minutes later, saying: "See you august 6th pal.". Now, an official announcement has come out, with Paul tweeting the news out earlier today.

He wrote: "Okay people he grew a set over night. It’s official, Im taking this little Fury’s head off. Amanda Serrano and I dual main-event at the Mecca of boxing. Official press conference and ticket on-sale this Wednesday June 29th at 11AM. #PaulFury "
