Tommy Fury's promoter provides update on potential Jake Paul fight

Tommy Fury's promoter Frank Warren has remained coy on his charge's potential fight with Jake Paul.

The British star was set to meet Paul last year but was forced to withdraw with a broken rib. Fury has since made his return to the ring outpointing Daniel Bocianski on the undercard of his brother Tyson's heavyweight title defence in April..

Warren has admitted Fury is itching to make another appearance in the ring, and will not wait around if a fight with Paul cannot be agreed for this summer. "We have got a couple of things we are working on at the moment, we have got to announce something soon because he has itchy feet," Warren told iFL TV. "He wants to get out there he wants to be out in the next few months so we will work something out.

"I still want to do the fight with Jake and I would still like to get that on. It is still realistic from our end but who knows from their end, but of course we would like to see that happen. There was a few discussions initially but we will see what happens."

Paul has confirmed his return to the ring will take place on August 13 but did not include an opponent in his announcement. It is understood that Fury is in the running alongside UFC legend Anderson Silva and boxing legend Mike Tyson. Paul has claimed he lost millions from his cancelled bout with Fury last year, and could be willing to leave his rival waiting in pursuit of other options.

YouTube news show host Keemstar suggested that Fury has been handed a second chance at Paul, although the rising star did not include him on his most recent six-man hit-list. Despite his absence, Fury called out Paul after his recent victory over Bocianski claiming his Polish opponent would have "killed" the undefeated fighter.

"I felt very good. It was my first fight in a year, he's a very tough guy and I almost got a stoppage numerous times," Fury said after the fight. "But I just have one thing to say, Jake Paul - this should have been done a long time ago in December and if you want it I'm here and I'm ready for you. I'll cut you and chop you to bits just like I did there, get the contract signed you bum, let's get it done once and for all.

"That lad in there would have killed Jake Paul, that lad is a true professional. He was cut to bits, still in there giving me everything that he had, he'd slap Jake Paul and it'd be over. Jake Paul, I'm going to end your career, you're a bum and you're no good. Let's get this fight done and get this settled."
