Jake Paul has given a cryptic response ahead of reports that 'boxing purists' will not be happy with Canelo Alvarez' next opponent.
Paul has previously named Alvarez as a potential opponent who he'd like to fight in his career, whilst speculation grows about the two meeting in the ring.
ESPN's report that purists will not like Canelo's next opponent has led to fans wondering if it really could be Paul who would face the Mexican.
Seen unanimously as the pound-for-pound king in boxing, the Mexican fighter moved up a weight division for 2022 after becoming undisputed super middleweight champion last year.
Alvarez is now said to be eyeing Ilunga Makabu's WBC cruiserweight belt as he bids to become a five-weight champion.
But he will likely not fight Makabu for the belt for his first fight in the division as he instead looks to test himself at the weight class against another cruiserweight.
Paul - who was supposed to fight Tommy Fury in December before the Manchester boxer was forced to pull out - is a cruiserweight.
Now, the American YouTube personality has responded to the claims about Canelo's next opponent, posting 'cold face' emojis on Twitter.
Canelo recently became super middleweight champion after defeating Caleb Plant.
Paul meanwhile, was victorious over Tyron Woodley after landing a brutal knockout on the former UFC champion.
