Tommy Fury put on notice as Jake Paul confirms boxing return with date set for next fight

American YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul has confirmed that he'll return to the boxing ring in August for his sixth professional fight.

The 25-year-old is 5-0 in his boxing career since turning professional in 2020 - defeating British YouTuber AnEsonGib, former NBA star Nate Robinson and MMA legends Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley - defeating the latter twice.

Fury and Paul had been scheduled to fight one another in December, but Fury was forced to withdraw from the bout after suffering a broken rib and struggling with a bacterial chest infection. Instead, Paul's former opponent Woodley stepped up to replace Fury and Paul landed a knockout shot on the former UFC champion.

Fury has stated that he hopes that the two can reschedule their fight in 2022, whilst previously stating he's looking to box at least three or four times. As of now, he has no fights yet scheduled for 2022, and has consistently stated that he wants to face Paul this year.

However, Paul has now stated on numerous occasions that he is not interested in revisiting a fight with Fury - unless the Briton wins a few fights convincingly before a potential future fight.

He said: "I don't think a fight will ever happen. I don't wanna give him the opportunity. He had his shot. I'd like to see him have to fight 20 more times to even get the same payday he was gonna get vs me. Sorry Tommy, it's not going to happen."

Multiple options have been discussed for Paul's return to the ring in August - with Fury hoping to be considered - along with former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr with the son of the Mexican legend appearing open to the bout. Paul has also called out UFC stars Nate Diaz, Jorge Masvidal and Conor McGregor.

In a recent clip posted to his social media platforms, Paul said: "August we're back, baby". The 25-year-old lives and trains in Puerto Rico with older brother Logan Paul.
