Tommy, the half brother of heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury, is preparing to take on rival Jake Paul on February 26 in Saudi Arabia. An hour before their announcement, Tommy posted a smiling picture of himself after a run as he captioned it: "5am miles this morning."
YouTube star Jake apologised for appearing to leak news of the birth on Frday. He tweeted: ""Tommy has no excuses now - Baby’s born. Money’s massive. Immigration no issue."
He later addressed his message, telling Sport Bible: "Did I do that? I leaked it? Oh s***. My bad. I’m sorry, Tommy. But don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone the gender or anything like that." He added: "Yeah. It’s a bit bizarre. Two of his biggest life moments in a very short time period here.
"I was telling my friends: I don’t know how he’s mentally going to be able to deal with that. If I had a kid, I wouldn’t want to be showing up at the gym, so I think it’s going to be a distraction for him."
Tommy said in a statement about the fight: "Jake Paul’s boxing career ends on February 26th and I can finally move on with mine. Every time I go out right now, everybody asks me about the Jake Paul fight.
"After this fight is done, everybody will be asking me how it felt to knock Jake Paul out. The world is about to see what happens when a proper boxer faces a YouTuber.
"The way I see this fight, it’s as though I’m cruising down route 66 on my way to fighting for titles and belts and I need to stop off for a bit of fuel, get the job done and then we’re back on the road. It won’t be a long fight.
"I have been training hard and have the best team around me, Jake Paul makes a lot of noise outside the ring but the only sound we are going to hear in the ring is him hitting the canvas.”
