Tommy Fury: Jake Paul ‘will never box ever again’ after our fight

Tommy Fury won’t be satisfied to simply knock out Jake Paul in their pay-per-view fight Sunday night in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. He wants to end his rival’s athletic career.

The entertainers-turned-professional boxers will meet in a scheduled eight-round bout at a catch weight of 185 pounds.

“When I’m done, this guy will never box ever again,” Fury said.

Fury, the half brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, evidently is bursting with confidence in part because of recent sparring sessions.

Sky Sports reported that John Fury, Tommy’s father and trainer, said his son has sent more than one sparring partner to the hospital, broke the jaw of one and has knocked out heavyweights in the gym.

“I’ve never been a man to speak about sparring sessions, but I can quietly confirm that sparring has been brutal,” the younger Fury told the British outlet. “I’m dealing with people in the gym on a regular basis that would knock Jake Paul into next week.”

Fury (8-0, 4 KOs) is the closest thing to an actual boxer Paul (6-0, 4 KOs) will have faced in his professional career, although his opponents have been journeymen.

The 23-year-old Englishman’s mission is to expose his American counterpart as an imposter.

Fury told Sky Sports that he will “stop him from thinking that he can transfer over to the professional boxing.”
