Tommy Fury dismisses "easy" Jake Paul fight ahead of Wembley ring return

Tommy Fury has dismissed Jake Paul as an "easy" opponent, despite still angling for their ill-fated fight to be re-arranged.

The Love Island star, a 7-0 professional boxer and brother of world heavyweight champion Tyson, was set to face 5-0 YouTuber Paul last December in Florida. But when Fury broke his rib during training, the bout was cancelled and Paul instead faced ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley, knocking him out within six rounds.

Now, Fury has said that Paul would be an "easy" fight, arguing that his upcoming return opponent Daniel Bocianski would comfortably win against the YouTuber-turned-fighter. He told the Queensberry Promotions YouTube channe l: "Whenever I get asked about Jake Paul, I don't know, it doesn't really spring anything in me because that's an easy fight for me.

"I'm used to fighting guys who are hungry and used to putting their life on the line, when the going gets tough, when Jake Paul is in a tough fight you're going see him take a knee and not continue because that's the type of man he is. When he fights me, that's exactly what will happen.

"This man I'm about to fight would iron Jake Paul out easy. Because this man has probably got a family to feed, this is his only way of making money, he probably needs to make the money"

Fury will fight Bocianski, just the second opponent of his eight who will have a winning record at 10-1, on the undercard of his brother's mandatory title defence against Dillian Whyte. The event will happen in front of a record-breaking 94,000-person capacity at Wembley Stadium, with the boxer insisting it's a much bigger event than anything Paul has been a part of to date.

"Listen, Jake Paul can do whatever he wants to do at the end of the day," Fury continued. "I'm fighting on this card and this card is way, way bigger than anything Jake Paul has ever done in his boxing career, ever.

"You couldn't even compare the two; Wembley and Jake Paul is two different things. I'm here on this fight looking to get a spectacular performance in, a very pleasing performance and, you know, whatever comes next comes next.

"Whether he wants to take that fight back, whether he's found his balls yet or he hasn't, I don't know. All I'm concentrating on is April 23 and getting my opponent out of the way."

Fury has on more than one occasion called for the bout with Paul to be rescheduled, but as yet it appears that the social media star is uninterested. He is plotting an August return, which the Brit isn't opposed to doing should he get through safely from his fight later this month.
