Tommy Fury definitely in for the crossover fights, but will eventually ‘return to proper boxing’

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – Tommy Fury is committed to influencer boxing – for now.

Fury remained unbeaten when he defeated influencer KSI by majority decision less than two weeks ago in the main event of Misfits Boxing: The PRIME Card. His win came months after he edged out Jake Paul by split decision.

Although his recent results haven’t been his most impressive showings, Fury is content to keep competing in crossover fights for the time being.

“I’m definitely in for the crossover fights,” Fury told MMA Junkie. “I want to be a part of that. I want to keep doing massive events because financially, it’s great, and it’s great to be part of these massive events. But you know what? After it’s all said and done, I will return back to proper boxing and I’ll test myself against the best.”

Fury admitted his fight against KSI wasn’t the most entertaining, but put the blame on his opponent.

“It is what it is: One guy was there to fight and one guy was there to do star jumps and run around,” Fury said. “At the end of the day, it was what it was. It wasn’t much of a fight, which I was upset about because I wanted to put on a great show for the fans and all the other guy wanted to do is run around all night. I’ll give the fans a good show next time, don’t you worry about that. But we got the win (against KSI), and on to the next.”
