Tommy Fury declares he could beat "useless" Jake Paul without training camp

Tommy Fury has boasted he could beat "useless" rival Jake Paul without training for their grudge fight.

Fury will finally touch gloves with bitter foe Paul on February 26 in Saudi Arabia, as he looks to finally put his words into action and derail the YouTube star's boxing career. The pair have been trading verbal barbs for nearly two years now since the pair first proposed a fight in August 2021 after Paul defeated Tyron Woodley for the first time.

Paul has an opportunity to make a huge statement in the showdown by beating his first fighter with a natural background in the sport. However the former Love Islander believes there is no chance of any upset being on the cards, and has vowed to deliver a devastating blow to Paul's career.

"There is no chance or no way that he can beat me in a fight," Fury told BT Sport Boxing when asked on what would happen if he lost to Paul. "Not through Monday to Sunday, there is no way in the world because even if I didn't train for this my heart alone would get me through this. Not a problem, he is useless. And he is even stiffer than me and I have a load of muscle on me.

"He can't move out of the way of a shot, his boxing fundamentals are awful because every fight is the same. When you are watching genuinely people who fight in the gym compared to him, he is a white-collar fighter. All the little tricks of the trade on the night he is going to be puzzled and I am going to be there laughing in front of him.

"I am not an MMA fighter, he does not know how to fight. I am not 40-years-old and I am not 50-years-old. I've got a plan from A-Z for this man, there is a million things he is going to fall for. This man is jumping at the deep end, you want to pay me a heap of money to fight Jake Paul. Christmas has come early for me, sign me up. It is going to be the end of an idiot."

Despite Paul's record consisting of MMA fighters and fellow influencer boxers, Fury has only fought largely limited opposition except in his last professional fight against Daniel Bocianski. There is also likely to be the added pressure of his heavyweight champion brother Tyson being in his corner on the night.

And Fury believes Paul is a good dance partner for this stage of his career before he plans to return to the traditional boxing route. He said: “I mean, everybody needs a dance partner, and I believe that’s what he’s done for me. Me and him, we’ve danced now for two-and-a-half years, back-and-forth. “But we’ve been in America having it out in hallways, we’ve said a lot of things over the past two-and-a-half years, but now it’s time to put it all to bed."
