Tommy Fury crashes Jake Paul's video call to demand fight with rival

Tommy Fury crashed rival Jake Paul's video call in an attempt reignite a boxing fight between the rivals.

Fury and Paul have twice signed to fight each other but on both occasions the Brit was forced to pull out. He suffered a broken rib in training last winter which saw him withdraw from his December date with Paul.

Fury and Paul were then due to meet in New York last month but the brother of heavyweight world champion Tyson was refused permission to fly to America. Paul instead signed to fight Hasim Rahman Jr but that fight also collapsed after a row over the weight limit.

Paul will now fight UFC legend Anderson Silva next month while Fury has not fought since a routine win on his brother's undercard in April. Paul had previously ruled out re-starting negotiations, but has now called on Fury to do his bit to ensure the fight takes place.

The YouTuber was on a video call with world champion Amanda Serrano, whom he manages, before her fight in Manchester on Saturday night when Fury, there to support teammate Joseph Parker in his fight with Joe Joyce, crashed the call. "i was expecting you to be here," he told Paul.

The YouTuber, who has a 5-0 record as a professional, was in a good mood with his rival despite their history, and as the call was ending, said: "Tommy, let's make the fight happen," to which Fury replied: "See you soon".

Earlier this week, however, Paul seemed pessimistic about a fight with Fury being resurrected when he said: "Look, it will be the last payday of his life, from boxing at least. He would quit boxing after that or at least he should. I'm going to turn him into a meme if we ever fight, literally a crazy meme.

"At the end of the day, he's ducking me so I don't know what this guy's angle is. I think he wants to just gain popularity and fight scrubs, because he knows he can make like £100,000 every time he fights against these scrubs. So if he gains more popularity, the longer that gig can last for him."

Fury has yet to announce his next fight but could feature on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather's exhibition bout with YouTuber Deji in Dubai in November. Fury has been linked with a fight with Tyron Woodley, who has twice lost to Paul, but Mirror Fighting understands a deal is not close.
