Tommy Fleetwood What’s In The Bag? 2025 Update

Tommy Fleetwood What’s In The Bag? 2025 Update.

Tommy Fleetwood What's In The Bag?

There are few more popular golfers in the world right now than Tommy Fleetwood. The man from Southport has a big following across Europe due to his Ryder Cup exploits but he is also well liked across the pond. Despite being one of the best ball strikers in the game, Fleetwood is still chasing his first PGA Tour win.

Fleetwood is a TaylorMade staff player and features prominently in most of their promotional videos due to his likable demeanor and silky swing.

Driver

Starting at the top of the bag Fleetwood has recently put the new TaylorMade Qi35 into play. Tommy had been using the Qi10 LS model but after a recent fitting with TaylorMade Tour Rep, Adrian, they found the combination of the Qi35 10.5° head and Fujikura Ventus Red 6X Velocore+ shaft is what gave him the best the best consistency.

Interestingly, Fleetwood also carries the 13.5 degree TaylorMade BRNR Mini Driver in the bag too and the same Ventus Red Velocore+ shaft as his driver. Carrying a mini-driver instead of a traditional 3-wood is becoming more popular on tour with Fleetwood being an early adopter.

“For me, if I HAD to hit a fairway, I’m more comfortable hitting a driver than a 3-wood” he said. “I would tee the driver down, and I would hit a little cut, or a neck-y cut in the fairway. The 3-wood isn’t for that. The 3-wood, generally, is a pretty hot club that I’ll hit from 270 or 280 in the fairway on a par 5.

“You get some courses where a 3-wood is not always that necessary. With the BRNR you put a normal swing on it, and it goes a little shorter than a driver, and I’m more comfortable hitting it straight. It’s a replacement for a 3-wood basically.”

“You can still hit it off the ground, and it goes a very similar distance to a 3-wood. It spins enough. It’s not a deep enough face where it’s so far off the bottom that the ball doesn’t rise. So you get a pretty decent strike, enough to get in the air. It’s a big-head 2-wood really"

Fairways

While the BRNR replaces his 3-wood, Fleetwood has started the 2025 season with just one fairway wood in the shape of an 18° TaylorMade Qi35 5-wood. His shaft of choice for his fairway woods is the Mitsubishi Kuro Kage XTS 80 TX.

The Qi35 is the middle option of the three in the range, offering a mid spin and launch profile and while at retail these are adjustable, Fleetwood has a fixed hosel on his. There is also the lower spinning Qi35 Tour fairway wood which features both loft and sliding weight adjustability to really dial in the ball flight. At the other end of the spectrum is the Qi35 Max fairway wood but due to launch and spin characteristics these are not common in professionals bags.

Irons

Despite choosing to game a bladed P7TW iron in 6-iron to pitching wedge, Fleetwood has recently made the move to P770 four and five-irons. The added forgiveness, speed and launch is why he replaced the smaller blades at the top end of the bag.

Fleetwood will still carry a Qi10 24° 9-wood around to tournaments as this will be swapped in and out with the 4-iron depending on course set-up. All of his current set have Project X 6.5 shafts and Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips on.

Wedges

Because of the extra clubs he carries at the top end of the bag, Fleetwood only has room for two wedges. One of those is a TaylorMade Hi-Toe 4 wedge (52°) while the second is a Titleist Vokey SM9 60° lob wedge. Both are fitted with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400 shafts.

Most Tour Pros carry three or even four wedges so Fleetwood values versatility, and in our testing we found the Hi-Toe 4 wedges to be brilliantly balanced wedge with a high centre of gravity for easy trajectory and distance control. The raised micro-ribs positioned between the grooves produce brilliant levels of spin, while the hi-toe shape delivers forgiveness on short shots in particular, making these some of the best wedges for chipping as well as being among the best golf wedges for spin control in wet conditions.

Putter

The Englishman had been using an Odyssey White Hot Pro 3 with a SuperStroke Mid Slim 2.0 grip for a while but at the beginning of 2025 he made the switch into a TaylorMade TP Soto Truss TF Proto. This new prototype looks similar to the Odyssey putter he was gaming with a flow-neck hosel but has the added MOI that a Truss putter offers.

Ball

Fleetwood uses the TaylorMade TP5x Pix golf ball with the number 19, which helped him solve an alignment issue at the tail-end of 2021. Before Fleetwood tried the ball, TaylorMade Tour rep Adrian Rietveld told him about the overall design and the benefits Pix could provide compared to the standard TP5x. “He actually didn’t know exactly how Pix worked,” Rietveld said to Golf.com. “He thought it was just triangles that went end-over-end when you hit the ball. Once he learned those triangles can actually help you when lining up, it was a bit of a eureka moment.”

“He had a bunch of questions for me about the ball, and it wasn’t just about the Pix design,” Rietveld said. “He wanted to know if it was the exact same ball as the TP5x he was using, as well as where it was manufactured. He’s very exacting when it comes to his testing and wants to make sure certain variables are the same to get an accurate test.”

Fleetwood still puts a thick black line on the ball for additional alignment on top of the PIX design.

Apparel/Shoes

It is important for golfers to have the best shoes and like many of the game's top players, Fleetwood has an apparel deal with Nike. He wore the Nike Air Max 90G shoes for a long time, before switching to the Nike Tiger Woods '13 shoes in 2023. Now in 2025 Fleetwood looks to have made another change and moved into an unreleased Nike shoe. It's reported these are the new Victory Pro 4 shoes but nothing has yet been confirmed by Nike.

Watch

Additionally Fleetwood wears a Tag Heuer Connected Modular Golf Edition watch too. Obviously he does not use during competition but if he was allowed he would be able to get seamless shot measurement and use the stunning display. The graphics are brilliant and it’s easy to track shots and input data thanks to the extra buttons.
