Edman joined the Dodgers on July 29 in a trade involving the Cardinals and the Chicago White Sox. During his initial stint with the Dodgers, Edman showcased his prowess by hitting .237 with six home runs and 20 RBIs in 37 games. Notably, he was named the MVP of the NL Championship Series after an impressive performance, boasting a .407 batting average with 11 RBIs. His contributions continued during the postseason, where he batted .320 with two home runs and 13 RBIs, ultimately aiding the Dodgers in clinching the World Series title.
The 29-year-old Edman is known for his versatility on the field, proficiently playing second base, shortstop, and the outfield. Over his six seasons split between the Cardinals and the Dodgers, Edman has maintained a solid .263 batting average, along with 59 home runs, 242 RBIs, and 112 stolen bases. His exceptional performance has solidified his position as a key player for both teams.
