Tomiyasu, Zinchenko, Turner: Arsenal injury news and who will miss Chelsea Premier League clash

Mikel Arteta was able to welcome back several players to his Arsenal matchday squad for their win over FC Zurich in the Europa League on Thursday night. Oleksandr Zinchenko, Bukayo Saka and Mohamed Elneny were all named in the squad with the latter two getting minutes.

However, it wasn't all good news on the injury front as Takehiro Tomiyasu pulled up in the final knockings clutching his hamstring and was ultimately replaced by Cedric Soares.

The Gunners face a huge Premier League clash with Chelsea at the weekend and will undoubtedly need their best players available if they hope to leave west London with the points. With that said, here's a look at the latest Arsenal injury news:

Takehiro Tomiyasu

While one Arsenal full back was returning to the squad after a month out, it's possible the Gunners may be without one until the World Cup break and the initial response from Mikel Arteta didn't spell out good things for Takehiro Tomiyasu.

When speaking to BT Sport following the win, Arteta said: "We don’t know. He has had a muscular issue and had to come off because we don’t want to take any risks. But we will assess him in the next 48 hours and decide what is best to do next."

Tomiyasu's availability for the weekend is unknown and while Arteta said they didn't want to take any risks his reaction told a thousand words as the 23-year-old threw his shirt up to his face in frustration.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

The versatile Ukrainian defender was a welcome sight for Arsenal supporters on Thursday night after he had been absent since the north London derby win over Spurs four weeks ago.

Zinchenko didn't get on the pitch on Thursday, but assuming he has continued to train without any problems ahead of the weekend there is no reason why he could not feature in Arsenal's fixture with Chelsea on Sunday - even if only from the bench.

Matt Turner

Back up goalkeeper Matt Turner, who has been predominantly used for Europa League games, has missed Arsenal's last two European fixtures with an injury.

Usual Premier League keeper Aaron Ramsdale has been the man to replace him in the Gunners last two group stage games and it's likely that Karl Hein will continue as the keeper on the bench for the weekend's fixture.
