Tomi Adeloye backs Ayr United to save season with two final wins

Tomi Adeloye insists Ayr are ready to save their season with wins against Queen of the South and Partick.

United now face a two game survival shootout after fluffing their lines at Dunfermline on Saturday.

Despite a dominant display in Fife, two goals in the final 11 minutes saw The Honest Men unravel at the death.

And Ayr's Player of the Year Adeloye, who has bagged 14 goals in all competitions, admits he was kicking himself more than most.

He told the Ayrshire Post: "I will always take full responsibility for my part in the team's results.

"I feel like I'm beginning to make a habit of getting chances and not putting them away.

"And we all have to take responsibility when things don't go our way.

"We were cruising in the game and two mistakes along with chances I didn't take have cost us three points.

"They were chances I know I should have taken and I know I should have done better.

"But our performance was really strong and we were comfortable in our shape and creating lots and we have to take confidence from that."

Adeloye was close to unplayable as he bullied the Pars defence all afternoon with his pace and power - helping Ayr to control the game until the late drama.

Now he's adamant they can bounce back by bettering Dunfermline's efforts as they also face Thistle and Queens in the final fortnight.

He said: "We could have done it the easy way but now we'll have to do it the hard way and will look to win our last two games.

"It's going to be tough, no game in this league is easy, but we know what we have to do and now we just have to do the job."
