Star Manly fullback Tom Trbojevic will have surgery on his injured knee and will be out of action for at least four weeks in a major blow to the Sea Eagles' NRL premiership campaign.
The 25-year-old underwent scans on Monday after suffering the injury in Saturday's 25-6 win over Canberra in Mudgee.
Seen limping during the game Trbojevic tried to play it down post-match, calling it a "grade three carry-on".
But he was spotted in a brace on Sunday with fears he could be sidelined for an extended stint.
The club said on Monday scans had revealed a medial tear that required surgery and he will miss at least a month of action.
Trbojevic sat out the opening five rounds last year after tearing his hamstring and missed a few more games through the middle of the season with a fractured cheekbone.
But he still managed to win the Dally M Medal and set a new Manly club record, scoring 28 tries in just 18 games.
