Tom Rogic offered post Celtic transfer advice as Scott McDonald names the destination he should avoid

Former Celtic playmaker Tom Rogic has been told he should avoid a return to Australia and stay in Europe.

Rogic had been at Celtic Park since 2013 but ended his spell in Glasgow's east end with a Scottish Premiership title win under Ange Postecoglou.

The Australia cap is now on the look-out for a new club, and former Parkhead striker McDonald reckons he must swerve a return home.

Speaking on Australian radio station tabTOUCH, the current Gold Coast Knights head coach told his fellow countrymen to remain in Europe as long as he can.

When asked about who was the more iconic Oz star to play for Celtic, himself or Rogic, McDonald said: "Tom Rogic has been phenomenal.

"It's a phenomenal achievement what he has done at that football club.

"He pips me all day long as the most iconic Australian to play for Celtic, without question.

"You cannot doubt his credentials and the success that he had at that football club.

"I wish him all the very best and I hope he is still in European football, and for him to keep doing well for the Socceroos."
