Tom Rogic fires Celtic 'top of the pile' reminder to Rangers as he issues defiant title roar

Tom Rogic has dismissed those doubting Celtic can handle the pressure of being chased at the top of the league - because they've been there for "the last decade."

The Australian playmaker notched a wonderful double as the Hoops dismissed Motherwell to extend their lead at the top of the Premiership.

The 4-0 victory came just days after a rampant win over Rangers and it looks as if Ange Postecoglou's troops are starting to motor.

All eyes were on the new league leaders after they dislodged Gio van Bronckhorst's team to go top but they certainly didn't wilt under the pressure as they dismantled Motherwell with a clinical Fir Park performance.

And Rogic was glad his team were able to follow up a big win with another important result.

Rogic was asked if his team could handle the pressure of being hunted rather than the hunters as they get reacquainted with top spot for the first time since Neil Lennon was in charge.

But the 29-year-old, who won five league titles on the bounce with Celtic between 2015 and 2020, was quick to remind their rivals that they're used to leading the pack.

He told Sky Sports: "We've been top of the pile for the last decade. It's a familiar position for us.

"Last season was disappointing but it's been a brilliant season for a lot of us (so far).

"We just need to keep working hard, keep our heads down, focus on the next game and not get too carried away.

"Everyone was watching us after that result (Old Firm), it was important to back it up.

"We've been doing that for a few months now, putting some consistency together. We've been playing well and maybe people are starting to take a bit more notice.

"But for us it's just about keeping focused on the next game and working hard."
