Tom Rogic is set to reunite with Neil Lennon in Cyprus, according to a report. The Parkhead hero remains a free agent following his emotional departure from Glasgow's east end at the conclusion of last season.
The 29-year-old left Celtic Park at the end of his contract and has taken his time in the search for a new club. But now, according to Protathlima , the Australia international is "close" to joining his former Celtic boss Lennon at Omonia Nicosia. It's claimed Rogic has already arrived in Cyprus to negotiate the transfer. Omonia looked set to sign Antwerp's Didier Lamkel Ze earlier this week but multiple reports have indicated the deal spectacularly collapsed at the 11th hour.
And now Cypriot media say Lennon is nearing an agreement to bring in Rogic instead. The pair worked together over two spells at Celtic and it was Lennon who originally brought the Aussie to Scotland in 2013.
Rogic gradually became a peripheral figure during the Irishman's second term at Parkhead and was almost sold to an unnamed Qatari club in summer 2020. The midfielder enjoyed a career renaissance under Ange Postecoglou last season but decided the time was right to move on from Celtic following the club's Double-winning campaign.
