Tom Parker's widow Kelsey seen in tears at the NTAs over clip of late husband

Tom Parker's widow Kelsey broke down in tears as a clip of her late husband was played at the National Television Awards on Thursday night.

The-30-year-old mum-of-two was overcome with emotion as footage was played of The Wanted singer Tom — on stage just weeks before he passed away — was shown on giant screens at London's OVO Arena Wembley.

Tom, who passed away from stage four glioblastoma brain cancer at the age of 33 in March this year, was nominated for his documentary Inside My Head - in the Best Authored Documentary category.

The one off special documented the singer's final months after being diagnosed with an operable brain tumour while Kelsey was pregnant with their second child.

The documentary missed on winning the gong after Kate Garraway's Caring for Derek was handed the prize in that category.

Ahead of attending the event Kelsey, who looked incredible wearing a white tea length down, told her Instagram followers she was feeling 'so emotional'.

She said: ''I don't know why I did it this morning, but I sat there and looked through all of Tom's reels.

''I don't know why I just did that to myself and literally, I am an emotional wreck this morning and I just can't stop crying.

''I'm trying not to cry right now. I just think with obviously the NTAs today and you know even with it being postponed, I think it's a long time coming.

''I just feel overwhelmed by everything.

''I feel overwhelmed I'm going to have to walk to the red carpet on my own, this is the first time I'm going to have to do this without him.''

She added: ''I think it's just the build up to everything and the day has come. Whether we win or don't win, I am so proud of how far we have come.''

Kelsey's post came after it was announced she will feature in a new documentary with ITV Kelsey Parker: Life After Tom as she hopes to connect with people in similar situations, including other famous faces.

The documentary will unflinchingly look at bereavement and will confront death with compassion, empathy, emotional frankness and some humour, according to a description.

The series is being produced by the same team that brought viewers Caring For Derek, which gave an insight into Derek Draper's recovery from long Covid.
