Tom Parker's final post was a tribute to The Wanted as he achieved aim of making it on tour

Celebrities and fans of The Wanted have been rushing to pay tribute to Tom Parker in the comment section of his final Instagram post.

Late on Wednesday afternoon, it was confirmed that singer Tom had passed away at the age of just 33, having battled a terminal brain tumour. A shocked and devastated Tom was given his diagnosis in 2020 and, revealing the news to fans back then, he vowed to fight it all the way.

And, as she revealed Tom had died, his wife Kelsey spoke of her pride in how he fought hard 'until the very end.' She wrote: ""Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout, he fought until the very end. I’m forever proud of you."

News of Tom's death, less than two weeks after he joined The Wanted on stage for their last show of their reunion tour, saw an outpouring of grief from all over the world. And many people used his final Instagram post as a place to pay tribute.

Tom was forced to miss the first few dates of the arena tour as he was in Spain having cancer treatment but he kept his promise to fans and achieved his own goal of taking part in the tour, which came to an end in Liverpool. At the end of the tour, Tom posted a picture of him and bandmates Max George, Nathan Sykes, Jay McGuinness and Siva Kaneswaran on stage and wrote: "Dream Team."

A whole host of stars including Scarlett Moffatt and James Jordan filled the comments thread of the post with love heart emojis on Wednesday after his passing, with fans also leaving messages. One wrote: "Heartbroken. So proud of you Tom," with another reacting: "FOREVER AND ALWAYS! LOVE YOU TOM."

At the time of writing, fans had got The Wanted's song Gold Forever to number 1 on the iTunes chart.
