Tom Parker helped James Argent through 'tough times' as he pays tribute to his pal

James Argent has shared an emotional tribute to his late friend Tom Parker - who he praised with helping him through 'tough times'.

The ex TOWIE star took to Instagram to share his sadness at the loss of his friend - Wanted Singer Tom who tragically passed away on Wednesday, more than two years after he was first diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.

James, 34, told fans he was "so grateful" for everything Tom had done for him as he himself struggled through depression, drug addiction and huge weight loss battles.

Sharing a string of shots of the pair smiling, with one selfie showing them sitting shoulder-to-shoulder, the reality TV penned: "Tom was such a Kind, Caring & Fun person.

"A truly Lovely and Beautiful man who was so Strong & Positive. I’m so grateful for all the memories I have with you & the quality time we spent together."

James looked back on the time he and Tom had spent filming for ITV show The Jump, as well as The Real Full Monty.

He also included pictures from Tom's daughter's baby shower and another on a night out together.

Tom's wife Kelsey broke the news of the incredible loss in a Instagram post on March 30 which reads: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side.

"Our hearts are broken, Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence.”

James acknowledged how he had relied on both Tom and Kelsey, who he saw had a special bond, as he himself faced his own challenges.

James penned: "You & Kelsey have been great friends to me," James continued. "All those video calls and advice you gave me really helped me through tough times.

"You & Kelsey are the definition of soulmates, the most solid & perfectly matched couple I’ve ever known."

"Your beautiful children will know how much of a legend their Dad was," the TV star signed off.

"I miss & love you mate."

Tom rose to fame as a member of chart-topping boy band The Wanted but revealed he had stage 4 glioblastoma in October 2020.

During his treatment and throughout the tough time his band mates have rallied to support Tom and his family.

Tom appeared on stage at The Wanted's Liverpool concert just weeks before he died and was too weak to sing the lyrics to their hit song Live Forever but his bandmates and crowds pitched in during a poignant goodbye to fans.

The 33-year-old tragically leaves behind children Aurelia, two, and Bodhi, one, as well as his wife Kelsey, 32.
